Today I'm sharing some tips/guidance on how to be healthy more easily. There are these 4 Doctors that are very helpful when it comes to maintaining a healthy balance between our work, recreation, rest, and nutrition in this busy, fast-pace world. They are Dr. Quiet, Dr. Happiness, Dr. Diet, and Dr. Movement.
Dr. Quiet – The ‘Chief Physician’.
In today’s society of constant noise, stimulation and stress, quiet time is something of a rarity. Quiet time calms your Mind~Body, and gives your body the chance to recover from wear and tear. Dr. Quiet gives us the Yin energy and teaches us when and how to rest. She reminds us to sleep according to the circadian rhythm and have at least 8 hours of sleep every night so our physical and physiology systems can be fully rest and recharged. If we don’t have adequate sleep, our body will be over-stressed which can lead to many problematic issues in the future such as depression, low vitality, foggy mind, and sub-optimal decisions. It is through Dr. Quiet that you first come to know yourself. She reminds us to save time for self reflections and to meditate so we can clear noises out of our heads and focus on our intentions.
Dr. Happiness – What makes you happy?
Dr. Happiness is the fulfillment of Dr. Quiet and Dr. Diet and is expressed through Dr. Movement. Dr. Happiness is governed by our goals and core values. It emphasizes the importance of having ambition/a goal because having one is going to help us make optimal decisions and lead us to the direction we want to go in life. When we are living in accordance to our core values, Dr. Happiness harmonizes our nervous system, musculoskeletal system and metabolism. The choices we make are going to determine our rhythms, pressures, and flow. Dr. Happiness also reminds us that our thoughts are our choices. It is important to think positively and believe there are potentials for us to achieve our goals in order to make them happen.
Dr. Diet – We are when we eat, where we eat, how we eat, and what we eat.
Dr. Diet informs you about how to eat so you can live your life with lots of energy, vitality and inner calm. He guides us to consume a variety of food in a rotational pattern according to our metabolic type so we can absorb different kinds of nutrients. There to keep your body strong, healthy and well repaired, Dr. Diet is very concerned with food quality and regularity. He reminds us of the importance of organic food and good water that comes from healthy soil and good care without chemicals. He reminds us to not skip a meal and save the biggest one for breakfast. Dr. Diet serves all four Doctors and all the senses of metabolism, movement and rhythm. When we have a healthy and balanced diet, we will stay away from pain and toxins, have a boosted immune system, and a healthy, vital body that provides us with energy to do what we love to do throughout the day.
Dr. Movement – The container of the metaphysical system
Dr. Movement represents our daily movements including both emotional thinking and physical activities. His function is to take you to what you want, and away from what you don’t want. Dr. Movement, our physical body, stimulates the metabolism and is the container of all 12 biological and physiological functioning systems that keep us alive. It is also the container of the 13th system called the limbic system, the collected matter of all which is created together by the mental, emotional and spiritual bodies. Dr. Movement increases the energy in your body when governed by Dr. Quiet. When governed by Dr. Diet and Dr. Happiness, Dr. Movement keeps your body beautiful and helps to pump it clean of waste.
In TAO Movement, we assign clients Health Appraisal Questionnaire in order to understand the relationships between their 4 Doctors. We then will design customized programs that target their physical performance, nutrition, lifestyle, and more, according to their own wellness goals.
All of these 4 Doctors play a significant part in our lives. Without them, our body cannot stay healthy and functional to support our journeys of achieving our goals, which will make our lives unhappy and unmotivated. Therefore, in TAO Movement, we put heavy emphasis on the 4 Doctors while coaching clients.
